Sisters are perfect clients at La Femme Portrait and such a joy to work with. There really are some beautiful shots to be had. Plenty of giggles, decision making, arguments and sharing all afternoon.
Growing the boutique wardrobe slowly at the beginning meant it was a little premature for the planned, complete La Femme experience. We’d just rebranded over the Christmas holidays. Arranging this portrait session in January, at such an early stage, was challenging. Not for these gorgeous girls though, they were the best team in every way. We were excited to see what we could achieve together. Bringing their wardrobe and makeup from home, we shared and made the most of all we had.
Three sisters make for some great mixes and combinations portrait wise. While the others were changing, Hazel was ready to start. She was the most nervous. Not that you can tell!
Individual shots are a great way to begin because any fears and concerns quickly disappear as I focus in with plenty of reassurance and guidance. I have so much empathy for nervous clients and completely understand their concerns.
Many people tend to have an outdated perception of portrait photography. My favourite task is to prove them wrong. Thinking about smoothly guiding you into flattering poses to compliment allows you to forget all about yourself, have a laugh and relax. Even the most nervous are left wanting more by the time the session finishes.
Sisters naturally position themselves comfortably together. For those less confident, sharing the event makes for an easier time initially.
I’m really pleased with the final results. Many thanks to both Holly and Beth as well as Hazel of course, who were so supportive at this start of our new business. I very much hope they’re able to come back soon! I always encourage nervous clients to bring either a family member or a friend. Someone close, like sisters, then we can start to play, unwind, and make beautiful art!
